The new S-series studio subwoofers are true to the legacy of KRK's previous subwoofers, which are prized for their sonic accuracy and compact design. Sound-tuned glass-aramid woofers deliver tight and easily defined bass, while powerful and highly efficient Class-D amplifiers dramatically increase transient response, control and real bass "kick". Thanks to the wide connectivity, you can connect almost anything to the subwoofers without the need for cable adapters. An optional four-position rocker switch makes it easy to optimally tune the subwoofer to the connected monitors.

In addition to the new design itself, the list of improvements for this generation of KRK subwoofers includes a slightly greater low-frequency range, improved ports for much better low-frequency phase response and reduced port noise, a more durable inverted dust cover, optional removable speaker grilles, and redesigned MDF cabinets with a lower profile and shallower depth than the previous generation for better placement flexibility.

Pairing the subwoofers with KRK monitors or other studio monitors will optimize listening and mixing with an extended low end. A footswitch-operated "bypass" function allows the subwoofer to be deactivated without having to get up from your listening position. This allows a direct comparison of listening with and without the subwoofer.
