Informatie
Alfred's Basic Piano Library – Lesson Book Level 1B is the follow-up to Level 1A and helps young and beginning pianists further develop their initial playing skills. The book starts with a brief review of the main topics from the first part and then gradually introduces new musical concepts. The richly illustrated layout, clear explanations, and short exercises make the method particularly suitable for children who want to learn to play the piano in a playful and clear way.
Students continue to practice reading and playing simple melodies and are introduced early on to double stops in the left hand. This quickly creates a fuller piano sound and teaches them to combine melody and accompaniment. New topics include incomplete measures, tempo markings, eighth notes, half and whole tone intervals, and the use of the sustain pedal and damper. The major scale is also introduced through tetrachords.
The curriculum is gradually structured and supported by simple instructions, funny drawings, and practical pieces to play. In this way, students not only develop their note knowledge and technique, but also their sense of rhythm, coordination, and musical independence. This edition contains only the lesson book and is the Dutch-language edition of level 1B.
