Medeli MZ729 electronic drum kit with full-size mesh shells (blackwood)

The Medeli MZ729 is an extensive electronic drum kit with full-size wooden shells and mesh heads. The beautiful Blackwood finish and full-fledged 20-inch bass drum give the set the look and feel of an acoustic drum kit, while the electronic module offers extensive possibilities for practice, recording, studio, and live use.

The configuration consists of a 20-inch mesh kick, 12-inch dual-zone snare, two 10-inch dual-zone toms, a 12-inch dual-zone floor tom, a 12-inch hi-hat, a 14-inch crash with choke, and a 16-inch 3-zone ride with choke. This makes the set feel familiar and spacious for drummers transitioning from an acoustic kit.

Full-size wooden shells with mesh heads

The wooden shells give the MZ729 a convincing acoustic appearance. The mesh drumheads provide a natural rebound and can be played comfortably during long practice or recording sessions.

20-inch mesh bass drum

The full-sized 20-inch bass drum offers a realistic playing feel and sufficient space for a conventional bass drum pedal. Together with the heavy-duty hardware, the MZ729 feels sturdy and familiar.

Expressive cymbal pads

The 14-inch crash features two zones and a choke function. The 16-inch ride has three separate zones and also includes choke functionality, allowing for convincing bell, bow, and edge articulations.

Real hi-hat

The 12-inch hi-hat is used with a traditional hi-hat stand. This allows the system to react more naturally to open, half-open, and closed playing techniques than a simple standalone controller.

Extensive MZ729 drum module

The included module features 60 preset drum kits and 39 user kits. Additionally, hundreds of internal drum and percussion sounds are available, and your own samples can be imported. This allows you to fully customize the set to your own musical style.

Recording and audio playback

The MZ729 supports both MIDI and audio recording. WAV and MP3 files can be played back, making it easy to play along with your own tracks, practice material, or backing tracks.

Bluetooth, MIDI, and USB

Bluetooth supports both audio and MIDI. Furthermore, the module features USB-B for MIDI, traditional MIDI IN/OUT, stereo line outputs, a headphone jack, and an AUX input. This allows the MZ729 to be easily integrated into a studio or live setup.

SD card and custom samples

You can store extra files and play back audio material via an SD card of up to 64 GB. The ability to load your own samples makes the MZ729 particularly flexible for drummers who want to use their own sounds.

Coach functions for focused practice

For study, the module includes functions such as Quiet Count, Beat Check, and Change Up. Combined with the built-in metronome and a tempo range of 30 to 280 BPM, the MZ729 is also a complete practice instrument.
