The Big Muff Pi 2 is the big news from Electro-Harmonix: a never-before-released Big Muff circuit from the late 70s, finally brought to life. Originally designed by Mike Matthews and Bob Myer, this dual op-amp prototype sat on the shelf for decades before being rediscovered and painstakingly reconstructed, resulting in a truly new Big Muff instead of a reissue.

Built around a dual op-amp architecture, the Big Muff Pi 2 delivers focused, high-gain fuzz with extended sustain, strong note definition, and a controlled low end. Its familiar Volume, Tone, and Sustain controls provide immediate access to classic Big Muff sounds while offering a slightly tighter and more articulate response than traditional transistor-based versions.

True bypass switching preserves signal integrity when the pedal is off, while the footswitch supports both latching and momentary operation for flexible use during performances. Powered by a standard 9V battery, with optional external power, and finished with artwork by Daniel Danger, the Big Muff Pi 2 is a newfound chapter in Electro-Harmonix history and a distinctive addition to any modern pedalboard.
