Gebed III (Prayer III) contains five meditative chorale arrangements by Dick Sanderman based on Psalms 25, 79, 86, 102, and 141. The compositions are written in a romantic idiom that aligns with English organ and choral music of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
With this collection, Sanderman offers his own interpretation of Dutch romantic chorale art. The warm harmonies and contemplative atmosphere are particularly effective on an English-style organ, but are also well performable on other organ types.
