In volume 2, in addition to a rhythmic expansion to sixteenth notes and the introduction to the 6/8 time signature, a chromatic tonal expansion is on the agenda. In volume 3, playing numerous pieces takes precedence, but new scales and intervals are also covered, as well as Theodor Tonleiter's explanation of major and minor keys. Students learn to improvise over a chord progression. Furthermore, volume 3 includes rhythmic development up to the most common and frequently used combinations of note values.
