The Power of Pop is written in the style of the pop music often heard on radio and TV. With a few years of playing experience, students can already play the first pieces without much difficulty. This book is excellent to use alongside your own teaching method. Various keys are used and the rhythms are simple. If students do have some trouble with the rhythm, they can use the ‘guide-track’. This is a separate track on the CD, with the melody played in a fairly ‘dry’ way: an excellent tool for the student to eventually be able to play the pieces in a swinging way themselves.
