Jan de Haan: A Discovery Fantasy (Accordion Ensemble)
A Discovery Fantasy is based on the signature tune of the television series “Op zoek naar muziek” (In Search of Music). This programme, which aired on Dutch television between 1986 and 1988, was compiled by, among others, the composer Jan de Haan. It took viewers to a certain place or region to introduce them to the most diverse forms of music-making. When writing A Discovery Fantasy, the composer had this successful television programme in mind. The signature tune is followed by three independent sections – a bolero, a rondo, and a romantic intermezzo – and, just like a television programme, the work concludes with an end tune.
