Salvador Cortez' CC-25 is a beautiful instrument to behold, thanks to the luxurious appearance of the mutenye wood used for the back and sides, the black walnut headstock veneer, and the stylish rosette around the soundhole.
The sound is louder and punchier than that of guitars with sapele back and sides. It is still bright and clear. These sound characteristics make it easier to produce a beautiful tone and will make improvements in playing technique more noticeable. A pleasant feature when taking lessons.
The model 25 is available with both a cedar and a spruce top. The guitar with a cedar top is easier to play and gives a warm feeling, while the CS-25 with a spruce top has a fuller sound, especially in the high notes, is more dynamic, and will only sound better after being played in. One is not better than the other; it is purely a player's preference.
Good playability is also guaranteed in the long term by the presence of an adjustable truss rod. Your dealer can adjust this correctly in just a few minutes during regular maintenance, ensuring the ideal string height is maintained. A truss rod is increasingly common in higher-priced classical guitars, but with Salvador Cortez, it's a standard feature from entry-level to Custom Shop models.
