The Sire Marcus Miller V7 2nd Gen is a left-handed, four-string bass guitar with the recognizable character of a classic J-style bass. The combination of a North American alder body, two Super-J pickups, and an extensive active preamp makes this instrument suitable for virtually any music style.

From warm soul and jazz to tight funk, pop, and rock: the V7 delivers a clear basic tone that can be extensively customized. Thanks to its black high-gloss finish, block inlays, and chrome hardware, the bass also has a stylish, classic appearance.

Alder body with a balanced sound

The body is made of North American alder. This type of wood is known for its balanced frequency response, clear mid-tones, and sturdy low tones. As a result, individual notes remain clearly audible, both during subtle fingerstyle and powerful slap techniques.

Comfortable neck with Edgeless fretboard finish

The hard maple neck has a comfortable C-profile and a familiar 34-inch scale length. The fretboard edges are rounded according to Sire's Edgeless principle. This gives the neck a played-in feel and makes quick position changes and longer playing sessions more comfortable.

The ebony fretboard has a 9.5-inch radius and is equipped with 20 frets and decorative block inlays. A real bone nut supports a clear attack and stable string transfer.

Marcus Super-J Revolution pickups

Two Marcus Super-J Revolution single-coil pickups provide the characteristic J-style bass response. The neck pickup delivers a full, warm sound, while the bridge pickup adds more definition and mid-tones. With the pickup blend control, you can mix both pickups to your liking.

Can be used actively and passively

The Marcus Heritage-3 preamp offers extensive active tone control for bass, middle, and treble. With the adjustable mid-frequency, you can precisely determine which part of the mid-range is boosted or cut.

The bass can also be used passively. In this mode, you have traditional volume control and passive tone control. This allows you to quickly switch between a natural vintage sound and a powerful, modern active bass tone.

Stable hardware and wide string spacing

The sturdy Marcus Miller bridge offers a string spacing of 20 mm. This gives the right hand sufficient space for fingerstyle and slap playing. The open-gear tuners and chrome hardware provide a classic look and reliable tuning.
