The North American alder body sounds warm and balanced, and the pickups are set at the classic '70s spacing: further apart than on the standard model, which gives the bridge pickup a tighter and more pointed character.

Vintage 7.25-inch radius with narrow frets

The neck follows the vintage recipe: a 7.25-inch fretboard radius and narrow 2.0 mm frets, totaling 20 frets. This gives it the round, old-school playing feel that many bassists are looking for. The Edgeless™ rounded fingerboard edges and the New Gen C-profile make the neck much more comfortable than the original.

Marcus Vintage-J pickups with Heritage-3 preamp

The Marcus Vintage-J Revolution pickups are paired with the simplified Marcus Heritage-3 preamp, which omits a separate mid-frequency control. This keeps the controls straightforward: volume/tone, blend, treble/mid, and bass. The bass control also acts as the active/passive switch—pull it out and the bass operates completely passively.
