The trio sonata for two recorders and basso continuo is one of the many successful works written by Jacques Martin Hotteterre. For The Platinum Series, this sonata has been arranged for two flutes. On the excellent CD, you first hear all the accompaniments (harpsichord and flute 2) – very useful if there's no accompanist around – and then the example tracks with two flutes and harpsichord. The basso continuo is suitable for both pianists and harpsichordists; and with the appendices (a first and second flute part and a cello part), this beautiful music can also be played with your own ensemble.
