Bizet's opera 'The Pearl Fishers' was written in 1863 and was his first important opera. Unfortunately, it received a very unfavourable reaction from the critics and Bizet himself was highly critical of it during his last years. However, the duet has remained the best-known extract and has been heard extensively on radio and television. This fantastic arrangement highlights the lovely intertwining melody that has become so popular.
