The methodEasy Steps is a complete, two-part method that contains all the ingredients for successfully training beginning musicians. The method is richly illustrated and includes - in addition to the necessary exercises and play material - musical games, ensemble exercises, ear training, and much more. Accompaniment (with or without an example) is provided for all pieces.
The books
The books form the foundation. Everything is covered in them. New notes and rhythms are taught here, with instructions on how to play them, and various musical concepts are discussed. Especially at the beginning, the steps are very small: gradual progression is the motto. This gives the student the opportunity to properly process the acquired skills - through clear explanations, exercises, games, and medleys of well-known songs. The clear layout and well-organized design provide extra clarity.
The CDs The accompanying audio CDs contain the accompaniments for all exercises and pieces. These are often played once as an example. The music tempos are slow, so playing along is quickly achieved.
The DVD/CD-ROM In addition to the CDs, Easy Steps books now also come with a DVD (volume 1) or CD-ROM (volume 2). This significantly increases the possibilities for use. The DVD (or CD-ROM) contains an instructional video demonstrating the first principles of playing the instrument. This video can be played on a regular DVD player, but also on a computer.
With the help of a computer, piano parts for the medleys can be printed. A separate piano book is therefore not necessary. In addition, there are trios (volume 1: eight, volume 2: twelve), from which both the score and the individual parts can be printed. Indispensable for group lessons!
All accompaniment tracks are on the DVD-ROM as MP3s. This makes it very easy to find the right track for the right song. The MP3 files can be transferred to an MP3 player, making it possible to play along anywhere.
