This work is named after a Turkish word for landscape: Manzara. The music portrays the peat marshland in Rhineland-Palatinate, which has gradually been transformed into a wild landscape by peat extraction. Various musical elements, such as fugues, rhythmic motifs, and beautiful melodic themes, describe different aspects of the developments in this region.
