This Latin Mass for choir and wind band was composed in honour of the feast day of Saint Cecilia. This saint is the patroness of musicians. Numerous music associations and choirs organise concerts every year in honour of Saint Cecilia, a fact that inspired Jacob de Haan to write this work. It is a festive, optimistic, but also comforting work, whose style perfectly matches the character of the Saint Cecilia feast.
