Jacob de Haan: Pasadena (Accordion Ensemble)
This piece approaches the Californian city of Pasadena from two contrasting angles. The expressive element emerges in the first section, conveying the magnificent sculpture gardens and villas. This is followed by a swinging section in a Latin-rock style. This is inspired by the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, the famous football game preceded by the Tournament of Roses parade. We then return to the opening tempo, with a more extroverted version of the expressive theme. The impressive final measures complete the work.
