Utopia is the name by which a book published in 1516 by the English writer Thomas More became known. Utopia is a word coined by More himself, from the Greek, meaning Noplace and has given rise to the words utopia and utopianism. Utopia depicts an ideal state on an island far from the inhabited world. This idea formed the inspiration for this composition. In terms of variation in themes and style, the work is reminiscent of Oregon. Utopia also consists of a combination of styles that breathe the atmosphere of film music. However, Utopia sounds less American. The slow, captivating middle section, for example, is closer to European Romanticism. The triadic signals in the brass are reminiscent of Wagner's music.
