Magical Moments is an engaging publication for violinists who are already comfortable with the first position. Some pieces introduce the third position, but small notes have been added to make the melody fully playable in the first position as well. The pieces that do not feature the third position present a different challenge, for instance, in terms of rhythm or key. This book contains twenty very diverse pieces. Expression is essential: it’s all about feeling and conveying the ‘spirit’ of the music. The fantastic CD was recorded live.
