Kleine Schaars: Four Faces of Jazz (Accordion Ensemble)

This suite consists of four different movements, each showcasing a face of jazz, starting with the blues in I’m Feeling Blue. The second movement is Dixieland, the first form of jazz played by white musicians; the influences of polkas and marches are still clearly audible. The third movement, Combo Ballad, is a pleasant interlude demonstrating that the accordion is an excellent instrument for performing a ballad. Finally, The Big Band Rhythm follows, in which the ensemble imitates a real big band.
