Liberty is composed in a traditional march form. In addition to an agile theme, the first section features an engaging bass solo. After the bass solo, the first theme returns and, following a powerful conclusion, the trio is introduced. A long, lyrical melody in the tenor section then allows the audience to sit back and enjoy. It is, however, brusquely interrupted by a wild fortissimo passage, characterized by a long scale that runs throughout the entire orchestra. This leads into a sonorous Grandioso with a repetition of the lyrical melody, embellished in the upper register, with which Liberty concludes.
