NUX Amp Core Studio Guitar Amp Modeler and IR Loader

The NUX Amp Core Studio is a compact amplifier modeller and IR loader for electric guitar. The pedal combines 26 amp models, 33 built-in cabinet IRs, twelve slots for custom impulse responses, and a flexible effects loop. This makes it a complete amplification solution for the stage, studio, and silent practice.

26 Realistic Amp Models

The 26 amp models cover a wide range of tones. The selection ranges from American tweed, twin, and Bassman-style amplifiers to British plexi and JCM sounds. Modern high-gain and boutique models are also available.

The TSAC-HD white-box modelling algorithm replicates both the sound and dynamic response of traditional amplifier circuits. This ensures that the sound reacts naturally to your picking attack, guitar volume, and effect pedals placed before the Amp Core Studio.

Built-in and Custom Cabinet IRs

The Amp Core Studio features 33 built-in cabinet IRs for realistic speaker simulation. In addition, twelve memory slots are available for IR files from external providers. The editor software automatically converts suitable WAV files to the required format.

When connected directly to a PA system, FRFR monitor, or audio interface, the IR provides the character of a mic'd speaker cabinet. If you use the return or power-amp input of a guitar amplifier, the cabinet simulation can be switched off.

Twenty Presets and Three Scenes

Up to twenty complete presets can be saved. Each preset includes the selected amplifier, cabinet IR, effect settings, and corresponding output level. The three Scene modes allow you to quickly switch between different amp tones during play.

Effects Loop for External Pedals

External effect pedals can be integrated into the signal chain via the Send and Return connections. The position of the effects loop block can be adjusted via the editor software. For example, overdrive pedals can be placed before the amplifier simulation, and delay or reverb pedals after it.

Noise Gate and Equalizer

A built-in noise gate helps reduce unwanted noise, especially with high-gain amplifier models. The equalizer allows further adjustment of the frequency character. The patch volume is adjustable per preset, allowing different sounds to be saved at a consistent level.

Direct to PA or Audio Interface

The Amp Core Studio can be connected directly to a mixing console, PA system, active FRFR speaker, or audio interface. This eliminates the need for a traditional guitar amplifier or microphone setup. The ultra-low latency ensures an immediate playing response.
