This work was written at the request of the Aikodai Meiden High School Symphonic Band, for their 50th annual concert – a fact to which the title refers. The close friendship between Hiroki Ito (the orchestra's conductor) and Satoshi Yagisawa led to Yagisawa being invited to write this brilliant, engaging fanfare, which is approximately two minutes long: a work that is ideal as a concert opener. The original composition was arranged for an extremely extensive instrumentation, including a separate banda, harp, and various special instruments, but this new version has been re-orchestrated by the composer himself for a standard wind orchestra.
