There are many compositions for keyboard instruments – and the piano or keyboard is not always the solo instrument. Especially in pop and jazz, the keyboardist often plays an important role in the accompaniment. Unlike in classical music, the chords are usually not written out, but are indicated by chord symbols above the staff. Playing with chords helps the keyboardist (on piano, keyboard or synthesizer) to create rhythmically engaging accompaniments using chord progressions. Both parts include a CD with examples of all chord progressions as well as listening exercises. Part 1 contains three ready-to-play ensemble pieces worked out for various settings; Part 2 is a logical continuation. Playing with chords: a method that has emerged from practice!
