The SX BJ455VS is a 5-string banjo with a closed resonator body and a distinctive Vintage Sunburst finish. The combination of a Remo head, an okoumé pot, and a flamed veneer resonator provides the clear attack and direct projection so characteristic of a traditional banjo.

This model is suitable for bluegrass, folk, country, and old-time music, among others. The short fifth string functions as a drone string, enabling characteristic banjo techniques and roll patterns.

Comfortable neck and reliable hardware

The nato neck features a rosewood fretboard with 22 nickel frets. The white star inlays give the banjo a recognizable look and help with finding positions on the neck. The dual-action truss rod allows for precise neck adjustment when needed.

The maple bridge with an ebony top clearly transfers string vibrations to the Remo head. The bone nut and semi-enclosed tuning machines support stable tuning and clear response.
