Tarjan, Hungarian Pictures was commissioned by the municipality of Vesoul and its harmony orchestra. The work is a tribute to Jean-Marie Goux, the orchestra's former musical director, who forged strong ties with Hungary, both with the town of Tarján and with the capital Budapest. The colorful composition consists of three movements: The 7th Tribe, Eternal Fidelity, and Conquest of the Homeland. With its powerful musical content, this work also offers some historical insight into a beautiful region with an impressive tradition.
